Weddings at Close House
Your wedding celebrations can take place at a number of locations in and around Close House. The number of guests, the time of year and the ambience you wish to create, may all influence your choice and our Wedding Coordinator will be happy to discuss your ideas.
The Ballroom
The Ballroom is our largest room available and the main setting for most weddings at Close House. This ground floor room offers timeless elegance, natural daylight, and large French doors opening onto the East Lawn offering beautiful views across the Northumberland parkland. It can accommodate civil and partnership ceremonies for up to 100 day guests.
The Venetian Room
For smaller, more intimate ceremonies, the first-floor Venetian Room offers a relaxed atmosphere for up to 50 guests. Once again, there is plenty of natural daylight and stunning views across the Tynedale countryside.
East Lawn
How about the great outdoors? What could be nicer than saying “I do” in the green and pleasant landscape that adjoins Close House. Alfresco ceremonies on the East Lawn are followed by the signing of the register in the Ballroom.
Marquee Weddings
If you are making really BIG plans and your wedding party is likely to exceed what can be accommodated within the House, then why not have your very own summer or winter marquee pitched in the grounds? Marquees can be hired to suit your particular requirements, just call us to discuss your options further.
The Orangery
An ideal location for wedding ceremonies for up to 35 guests is the Orangery. Let your love blossom among the vines in this heated conservatory which can be used all year round. Then step onto the terrace, or into the Champagne bar for drinks and photographs.
