The Chef

Our chefs insist on sourcing the very best local ingredients from small, independent and artisan producers within the North East. This means that our menus are shaped by seasonal availability, changing regularly to reflect what’s growing in the region right now.

Head Chef Simon Walsh is passionate about local, original, inclusive, affordable, seasonal, unpretentious  and super-fresh food. He is a wild supporter of Northumberland’s incredible food producers.

The Food

No.19 is all about the best in local seafood, meats and vegetables, used to create, flavour-packed seasonal dishes for you to enjoy in beautiful surroundings overlooking the stunning Tyne Valley. Signature dishes include locally Foraged Wild Mushrooms on Toasted Sour Dough, Slow Roast Belly Pork, Chorizo Casserole and Rice Pudding with Roasted Plums. There are Daily Specials and a set priced menu, plus a great wine list.
