The Future of Close House Golf
There are several golf projects currently being planned at Close House, these include a new clubhouse; driving range; and most importantly a 2nd golf course.
The clubhouse has now been submitted for planning permission which will take 13 weeks. The construction of the clubhouse will begin as soon as the planning permission is approved. The clubhouse facilities will include a pro-shop, ladies and gentleman’s locker rooms, a member’s club storage room, a bar/restaurant and function room.
The 2nd golf course is currently being designed after the purchase of an additional 170 acres of land. The championship length course is being designed by TurnerMacpherson Golf Design. The surveys required for planning permission are currently underway and it is planned to be submitted in the autumn of 2008.
A new Golf Academy is also currently being designed to be submitted for planning in the autumn of 2008. The driving range will have a covered bay area, video teaching bay and a custom fitting suite.
All current plans are on display in the current clubhouse and these will be updated.
