With two fabulous Golf course there can be no better place to enjoy a golfing break. The Lee Westwood Championship Colt course was opened in May 2011 and was recently voted one of the top 100 golf courses in England, less than 8 months after it opened. The 18 hole Filly course follows the line of the river Tyne and offers challenging USGA specification greens. Both courses are enveloped by the beautiful Northumberland countryside.

All of the Courtyard bedrooms have been named after the courses designed by the golf course architect Harry Colt. Born in Highgate, England, Harry was involved in over 300 golf courses many of which you’ll be familiar with including Sunningdale, Wentworth and many more.
The Courtyard at Close House is a great base for you to explore Northumberland, the City of Newcastle and the lovely Tyne Valley.
The Close House estate has a number of historical landmarks including a hidden ancient roman monument and was the birthplace of George Stephenson the inventor of the Rocket the first steam powered locomotive.
Located less than 8 miles from Newcastle Central Station and Newcastle International Airport you will quickly find yourself relaxing in one of golfing most wonderful retreats.

Tee off on the establish 18 hole Filly course. roviding stunning views of the River Tyne Valley. The Parkland Layout was re-designed and re-opened in 2007. It now has 18 USGA specification greens, is 6000yds in length and a par 70. The undulating greens provide a real test for your putting skills.
